The Matrimoney account is a safe, simple and easy way to give the gift of money only it’s more secure and convenient than a traditional wishing well.
How it works
- Couples open a Matrimoney account online.
- Order your free Matrimoney cards - we'll send you Matrimoney cards and an equal number of receipt cards to insert in your invitations. Be sure to write your Matrimoney account details on the Matrimoney cards.
- Guests transfer funds - you can check your balance at any time via our app and set up SMS/email alerts to be notified each time a gift is deposited.
- Guests who chose to gift money this way will insert a receipt card in their card to you on the big day. It's up to them whether they'd like to write how much.
- Spend or save your cash gifts when it suits you - you'll both need to approve any withdrawals
Your account can remain open for a maximum period of 12 months. After 12 months or your wedding date (whichever comes first), you'll have another 60 days to transfer your funds to an alternate account. In the event we don't hear from you we will convert your Matrimoney account over to our Everyday Access account, along with any available balance.

1. Check your wedding invitation - find the account details of the couple's Matrimoney account on the inserted Matrimoney card.
2. Deposit funds to the couple electronically – using your own bank's Internet Banking or mobile app. Or, you can deposit cash over the counter at one of our Financial Services Stores or the Bank@Post service.
3. The couple earn interest on funds deposited to help grow their gift.
4. A blank receipt card will also be provided in the invitation which you can include in your wedding card on the day. It's up to you whether you want to write on here how much you gifted. It's a simple way to let the couple know that money was gifted.
