In a significant milestone, Community First Credit Union’s Low Rate Pink Credit Card & Pink Debit Card have officially raised $1 million since 2009 to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia.
Over the last 11 years, Community First Credit Union has donated $20 of the annual fee for the Low Rate Pink Credit Card holders and more recently $1 of the monthly fee for Pink Debit card holders to the McGrath Foundation.
“We are very proud the Low Rate Pink credit card is Australia’s only credit card supporting people with breast cancer and their families,” says Mr John Tancevski, Chief Executive of Community First Credit Union.
The Low Rate Pink Credit Card was launched 11 years ago to support the McGrath Foundation established by the late Jane McGrath and her Test cricketing great husband Glenn. It is one of the few credit cards offering an interest rate below 9% p.a.
“The Low Rate Pink credit card that proudly supports the placement of McGrath Breast Care Nurses in our local communities has the same low rate of 8.99% p.a. on purchases and cash advances,” noted Mr Tancevski.
“We are delighted our members have supported this important cause and that we are doing our bit in helping to create breast cancer awareness by providing a low rate card with a higher purpose.”
The Low Rate Pink credit card also offers a 0% p.a. interest rate on balance transfers for six months for members who apply for the card by 31 July 2020.
“The 0% p.a. fee on balance transfers will help those members of our community doing it tough due to COVID-19,” said Mr Tancevski.
“Our low fee banking products and long-term partnerships with organisations such as the McGrath Foundation are just some of the ways we make a tangible difference to the communities where we operate.”
McGrath Foundation President & Co-Founder, Glenn McGrath, could not be more grateful for Community First Credit Union’s support.
“When we entered this partnership 11 years ago, we had no idea it would raise $1 million for our McGrath Breast Care Nurses,” Mr McGrath said.
“We couldn’t be prouder that Community First has continued to back an initiative that has supported the McGrath Foundation and people with breast cancer.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Community First Credit Union and all of the wonderful Community First members for your incredible support,” said Mr McGrath.
While Community First Credit Union stores are NSW based, people can apply for the Low Rate Pink Pink credit or Pink Debit cards from anywhere in Australia by visiting www.communityfirst.com.au/mcgrath-pink-visa-home or calling 1300 13 22 77.
