If you’re switching your banking from another financial institution to Community First, we’ll help make the process simple, quick and easy with our account switching service. Simply follow the steps below or download our account switching pack.

Step 1: Become a Member
|
If you're not yet a Member of Community First, you can apply online, call 1300 13 22 77 or visit your nearest Store.
|
Step 2: Identify your regular payment arrangements
|
Contact your current financial institution and request a list of all your current direct debits, direct credits and periodical payments. You may also be able to identify these regular payments from your financial institution statements.
|
Step 3: Re-establish your regular payments
|
You now need to re-establish your regular payments on your new Community First account and cancel them on your old account. You have the option of arranging this yourself by contacting the organisations you have regular payments to or from to notify them of your new Community First account(s), or we would be pleased to arrange this for you. Should you choose to undertake these notifications yourself, we recommend you refer to our Account Switching Pack.

| To arrange for us to do it for you

| Complete the following forms/letters and send them to each provider or organisation:

| - Complete our switch form for each of your payment arrangements, as well as the Authority to Cancel Periodical Payments form and return it to us together with your list of regular payments.

Step 4: Re-direct your pay or income
|
Once your new account is open, to start having your pay or income deposited directly in to your Community First account, simply complete our Whole of Pay/Deduction Authority form and forward it to your employer.

Step 5: Complete, sign and post the relevant forms to us
|
Complete and sign all the relevant forms and return them to us by any of the following methods:

Step 6: Close your old account
|
Once you are sure all regular debits and credits have successfully been re-established on your new account, you can close your old account with the Authority to Close Account form.
